Do I qualify?
MP Weight Loss will review your BMI, age, medical history, and treatment goals before prescribing medication.
BMI Requirement
To qualify for GLP-1 injections, you may need a BMI of 27 or higher.
Age Requirement
Patients may need to be 15 years of age or older to qualify for GLP-1 injections.
Medical History Review
GLP-1 medications may not be appropriate for everyone. MP Weight Loss will review your medical history before treatment.
GLP-1 injections may not be appropriate if you have a history of:
- Medullary thyroid cancer.
- Gallbladder disease.
- Pancreatitis.
- Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Syndrome Type 2, also called MEN2.
- Currently breastfeeding or pregnant.
You may also choose to speak with your primary care physician if you have questions about whether GLP-1 treatment is right for you.
Two separate transactions
MP Weight Loss collects the clinic visit fee. If medication is prescribed, the pharmacy sends a separate invoice for the medication. Pharmacy pricing can change and may vary by medication, dose, supply, and pharmacy availability.

- Pharmacy Cost — billed by pharmacy, not by clinic
- Estimated Total — combined visit + medication estimate
How the process works
A simple visit-to-refill path so patients know what happens next.
Start with a visit
We review your history, goals, side effects, injection comfort, and whether treatment is appropriate.
Prescription is sent
If medication is prescribed, the prescription is sent to the pharmacy based on your treatment plan.
Pay the pharmacy
The pharmacy sends the medication invoice directly to you. Shipping and processing may take several business days.
Follow up safely
Follow-ups help us review results, side effects, appetite control, and whether your dose should stay the same or change.
Why follow-up visits matter
Follow-up visits are required to continue treatment safely. We review your progress, appetite control, side effects, dose timing, and whether your current dose should be repeated or adjusted.
Your treatment schedule is based on your prescribed dose and appointment dates — not simply how much medication appears to be left in the vial. Do not stop, restart, increase, decrease, or stretch your medication without speaking with MP Weight Loss first.
GLP-1 injections
First follow-up timing depends on the medication and dose. After that, follow-up timing is based on your treatment plan and how you are doing.
Pills/tablets
Oral medication follow-ups are usually monthly at first, then may spread out once the plan is stable.
Maintenance planning
As you approach your goal, we may discuss staying on your dose, lowering your dose, spacing doses, or coming off medication safely.
GLP-1 Maintenance or Coming Off Medication
As you get closer to your goal weight, MP Weight Loss may discuss a maintenance plan with you. This may include staying on your current dose, lowering your dose, spacing doses, or creating a plan to come off medication safely.
Clinical studies show that some weight regain can occur after stopping GLP-1 medications like semaglutide or tirzepatide. In controlled trials, patients regained approximately 60–70% of the weight lost within one year after discontinuing treatment.
Do not stop or change your dose without contacting us first
Do not stop, restart, increase, decrease, or stretch out your medication without speaking with our team first. We will need to record this in your chart.
Appetite may return
If you come off GLP-1 medication, appetite and cravings may return. This is normal and does not mean you failed.
Have a transition plan
A good transition plan should include protein goals, hydration, regular meals, activity or strength training, weekly weight tracking, and follow-up visits.
Protect your progress
The goal is to protect your progress and help you maintain healthy habits long term.
Call the clinic before stopping if:
- You have diabetes.
- You take blood sugar medication.
- You are having side effects.
- You are unable to eat or drink normally.
- You are planning a pregnancy.
- You are noticing weight regain.
